I met my beautiful wife, LC (Elsie), in 1968. I was completely in love with this dark-haired funny and sweet girl. Laying in bed on a Saturday morning, listening to music I contemplated what colour love reflect when the radio host announced this song Love Is Blue. I loved the song so much that I got hold of the music and played it to LC. She also loved the song and it became our song and the song always reflect sweet memories to this day and reflects the “sweetness of everlasting love” The original song name was “Sweet, sweet, love is sweet”. The Afrikaans and English Versions of Love Is Blue was both translated from the French song.
Instrumental version by Paul Mauriat was the # 12 song of the 1960–1969 Rock Era and was # 1 for 5 weeks in 1968. Vocals that same year were charted by Al Martino (# 57) and Andy’s wife, Claudine Longet (# 71).
