Dit sal nie maklik wees nie, jy sal dit vreemd vind
As ek probeer verduidelik hoe ek voel
Dat ek jou liefde nog nodig het na alles wat gebeur het
Jy sal my nie glo as jy na die jare na vier en negentig kyk nie
Al wat jy sal sien, is ‘n meisie wat jy eens geken het
Alhoewel sy aangetrek is van kop tot tone
Skamel tot by die bobeen en naeltjie saam met jou
Moes ek dit laat gebeur, ek moes verander
Ek kon nie my hele lewe op onderdrukking ly nie
Ek kyk by die venster uit en vermy die son
Ek het dus my vryheid gekies
Hardloop nou rond en probeer alles nuut
Maar niks van Suid Afrika het my beïndruk nie
Ek het dit nooit verwag nie

Die waarheid is dat ek jou nooit verlaat het nie
Dwarsdeur my wilde dae, my mal bestaan
Het ek het my belofte nagekom
Moenie jou afstand hou nie
En wat betref vryheid en vrede
Ek het hulle nooit ingenooi nie, hulle was altyd daar
Alhoewel dit vir die wêreld so anders gelyk het, was dit al wat ek wou hê
Dit was alles illusies…
Dit is nie die oplossings wat hulle belowe het nie
Die antwoord was altyd hier
Ek is lief vir jou en hoop dat jy my liefhet
